Pricing FAQs

How does subscription billing work?

Pricing is per user. A user is a backed up Mailbox, Shared Mailbox, OneDrive Account or Shared OneDrive Account. Each of these requires a user license.

If a single user has both Mailbox and OneDrive backups, that counts as one billable user.

SharePoint Site Document libraries are backed up for free as long as OneDrive backups are enabled for that organization.

If one mailbox is used by multiple users, the fee is for the mailbox rather than for the number of people who have access to it.

What is included in the price?

Pricing is per user. The monthly subscription fee includes backup (choose what to back up per customer – mailboxes only or mailboxes and files stored within OneDrive and SharePoint Document Libraries), backup storage, 24/7 support and access to our multi-tenant cloud management console for centralised management of all your Altaro Office 365 Backup customer accounts.

There's a minimum starter pack subscription that includes up to 30 users (mailboxes only) per month. You can scale up to tens of thousands of users.

Each user license is subject to a fair use policy of 50GB for mailbox, OneDrive and SharePoint backups combined. This is aggregated across all licensed users for an Office 365 organisation. I have less than 30 users under management. Can I still use your service?

Yes – our starting subscription includes up to 30 users (mailboxes only) per month, meaning you can use the service with fewer users.

Do customers require a separate product license?

No, clients do not need to purchase separate licenses. There are no additional costs involved.

Can I delete my account at any time?

Subscription is monthly, with the possibility of stopping at any time. Other providers within the industry require single or multi-year contracts.
