If your SMA expired more than 30 days ago, you are required to renew your contract for two years from the expiry date.
If your SMA expired more than a year ago, you are required to renew your contract for three years from the expiry date, unless your SMA expired more than 2 years ago, in which case you will need to purchase a new license.

To check the status of your Software Maintenance Agreement you can login to your account on the Altaro portal. Here you’ll find all the products you purchased and when the Software Maintenance Agreement is due for renewing. You can click on this link to go to the Altaro Portal: http://portal.altaro.com.
To renew the Software Maintenance Agreement you can contact your IT Partner where you purchased your license. They will assist you with the renewal.Regions where the shopping cart is open
To renew your SMA you log in to the Altaro Portal, click on "My products", click the blue "Renew Support/Upgrades" button of the license it’s regarding and select 1, 2 or 3 year renewal. Check if the billing section contains the right information. Select the payment option and you are all set.
Please note that if you choose “Purchase Order” you can only pay via Wire Transfer.

Altaro VM Backup is a one-time purchase which includes 1 year of SMA (Software Maintenance Agreement), which entitles you to receiving premium Support and upgrades. From year 2 onwards, you will have the option to renew at a cost of 25% of the current list price, per extra year of SMA.
No. Add-ons do not require a license as long as the host is assigned a Standard or Unlimited Edition license.
No, you can simply replace your Free Edition key with the new license key purchased and all the product's features will be available to you right away.
