How does subscription billing work?
Billing is per endpoint backed up per month.
What does pricing include?
The monthly subscription fee is paid per endpoint backed up per month. It includes:
- backup and recovery functionality
- access to the multi-tenant cloud management console across all your customers
- unlimited use of the Altaro EndPoint Manager and the Altaro EndPoint Agent
- outstanding 24/7 support.
Over and above that, you receive 10 free endpoint backups per month for your own internal use - not for resale; not for use on customer networks.
Are there no storage costs?
Backups are stored to your own MS Azure, meaning you can charge your customers for backup storage. We do not store the backups you take and therefore we do not include storage in the monthly subscription fee.
Does Altaro charge extra when I perform a restore for a customer?
No. We charge one fixed all-inclusive price per user per month. Charges from your cloud provider may apply when restoring.
What if I do not have a minimum of 10 customer endpoints to back up each month?
You can start with as few users as you wish. Our starting subscription includes up to 10 endpoints a month, so if you wish to start with fewer endpoints, you can.
Can you tell me more about your offer of 500 free endpoint backups?
Sure thing. Until 31 January 2021, you can sign up for a free trial of the product and receive 500 free endpoint backups, enabling you to earn revenue by backing up your customers' endpoints at the price point you select, without paying us a penny. (Note that, as you will be storing backups on your own Azure account, you will incur those costs and should keep this in mind when planning what to charge your customers.) This special promotion runs until 31 January 2021 and is valid for up to 500 users. As from 1 February 2021, you will need to activate your subscription if you wish to continue using the product and accessing the backups taken. There's a minimum starting subscription of 10 endpoints per month; you can scale to thousands of endpoints.
Do I have to subscribe to Altaro VM Backup for MSPs and Altaro Office 365 Backup for MSPs as well as Altaro EndPoint Backup for MSPs?
No. The three are separate products and you can subscribe to one of these solutions without needing to subscribe to the others. Should you wish to subscribe to two or more of them, however, you can manage all your Altaro customer backups through our central multi-tenant platform, the Altaro Cloud Management Console (CMC). When using the CMC, you simply need to select which product you want to use – you can switch from one product to the other.
Do you offer a Free Edition version of Altaro's endpoint backup solution for MSPs?
Yes. Upon trial registration, we automatically provide MSPs with to the ability to back up 10 of their own internal endpoints for free; this is not for resale and is provided for their internal use (not on customer networks). A paid subscription is required for any additional endpoint backups for your own use over and above those 10, or any others for commercial purposes (backups for your customers).
