Channel Sales Manager

LOCATION: Remote, United States

Due to steady growth and over 40,000 customers worldwide, we continue to expand our channel sales team. This position will help fuel our company’s growth in the US market.

We are looking for an experienced Channel Sales Manager to help build and manage our channel community. This is a channel hunter role and you are tasked with identifying and recruit new VAR and MSP partners within your territory. A successful candidate must understand how to recruit, enable, manage and grow their channel by building relationships with and educating key partner staff within the VAR, DMR and MSP community.

You will drive both direct and indirect revenue through lead management and follow-up. We expect you to have excellent written and communication skills and must feel very confident speaking to people on the phone. This is a full-time position remote based (home office) within the United States.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Identify, recruit, train and successfully manage (VAR and MSP) channel partners within assign territory to drive significant revenue growth
  • Manage existing top tier partners and drive revenue growth through partner recruitment and enablement within your territory
  • Travel within defined territory for partner meetings, trade shows and conferences to drive channel demand as needed. Travel is less than 50%
  • Drive direct and indirect sales across your assigned territory
  • Have an active role in helping your partners build their pipeline and close business
  • Work closely with inside sales, channel marketing and sales operations to identify, execute and drive partner programs and events within your territory
  • Manage your channel communication, activities and sales pipeline through recording and tracking of your leads and opportunities using our CRM
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge in disaster recovery, restore and back-up solutions
  • Stay on top of related industry aspects including competitive products
  • Prepare written communication, reports and price quotations as necessary
  • Call/liaise with customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction
  • Successfully communicate the Altaro value proposition to your channel partners
  • Demonstrate consistent achievement of monthly sales quotas
  • Engage with distribution partners as needed to drive channel growth in the territory through marketing and sales initiatives as needed

Required Skills and Experience

  • Graduate or undergraduate degree or equivalent experience is required
  • At least 4+ years in a similar role
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently while still being part of a dynamic and highly distributed team environment
  • Excellent technical understanding of virtualization, servers and network administration
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Personable/helpful character that comes across on the phone and in emails
  • Experience making/receiving high volume of calls/emails a day
  • Experience identifying and engaging new channel partnerships is a must
  • Previous experience with SMB VAR’s and MSP’s
  • Experience working with CRMs & MS Office
