Sales Engineer – North America

The Sales Engineer for North America will be responsible for assisting the sales team, customers and partners with pre-sales technical queries, training and advice. This includes but is not limited to delivering demos and technical training programs to resellers, distributors and Altaro staff throughout the US and Canada as well as designing Altaro implementations to selected customers (POC).

The Sales Engineer role is based in their home office in the US, however, requires periodic travel to partners, customers and industry events within the US and Canada. Working hours ideally start from 9am CST.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Conduct pre-sales webinars & demos to potential customers and partners
  • Assist sales team with pre-sales questions and join them on calls as a technical resource
  • Conduct occasional pre-sales on-site visits to selected customers and partners
  • Attend and deliver product presentations during seminars, events and IT Fairs
  • Develop and deliver technical training programs and support materials to Altaro resellers, distributors and the sales team in order to improve the participants' effectiveness and product knowledge
  • Provide feedback to product management on product feature requests and recommendations
  • Attend industry events as the technical resource on the Altaro booth
  • Travel within US/CA territory, up to 40% travel time (once Covid subsides)

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • An experienced software pre-sales engineer
  • High-level competency with software, operating systems and networking, preferably in a Virtualisation environment

Communication:

  • Fluency in English
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills

Education/Experience:

  • 5 years+ hardware/software technical sales experience and
  • 5+ years' experience working within the channel structure for vendors, distributors and resellers strongly desired
